The Expo for Independent Arts: Our 10th Anniversary!

On Saturday, Sept. 26, 11 a.m.-6 p.m., the Bay Area’s only grassroots connection fair for independent arts, music & culture comes to the Music Concourse in Golden Gate Park!

The Golden Gate Park Music Concourse is between the DeYoung Museum and the Academy of Science, a short walk from the N-Judah, 5 Fulton, 6 Parnassus, 43 Masonic, 44 O’Shaughnessy and 71 Haight. Parking is available for a fee.

(9/26) The Four Corners Mural Project! Four large-scale murals will be painted LIVE at the Expo, featuring the talents of the Quetzal Collective (East Bay), Andy Gouveia (South Bay), Brino Ism (North Bay) and Precita Eyes Mural Center (West Bay).

(9/25) The Expo Symposium for Independent Arts! The day before the Expo, on Sept. 25, an all-day lineup of conversation and workshops comes to the Brower Center in Berkeley. DIY skills, social media, the artist as citizen, the artist as worker, and more.

WHAT IT IS: The Expo is the premiere event for arts-audience development and -community building in the Bay Area — a gigantic Show & Tell for arts projects of all genres and disciplines to engage with the public, gain recognition and new audiences and supporters. We expect 200 exhibitors and upwards of 5,000 attendees from around the Bay Area and beyond.

CAN I EXHIBIT?: Absolutely! This event is open to diverse arts projects, arts service, performance troupes (dance, theater, music), venues, ‘zines, record labels, schools, studios, galleries, collectives and more!
