Cultivating Media and the Arts

Friday, August 31st, 2012

Arise, arouse, a rose: Bloom, bloom, bloom!IAM is a nonprofit fiscal sponsor for independent, commercial-free works in media and the arts. We support people, projects and organizations that use the arts and media to build community, civic engagement and cultural participation.

Journalism. Criticism. Culture. Performance. Music. Visual art. All these activities are primary arenas for engagement in our democracy. Yet even in the Internet era, commercial and institutional interests act as “gatekeepers” that limit public and community participation.

As a 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor, IAM helps cultivate works that are emerging independently, works that change lives and build community. Works that couldn’t otherwise flourish in the existing media/arts environment.
