It all started in January 2006, when the good folks at Shaping San Francisco contacted Indy Arts about a new speaker and conversation series. They put together a great program, and we have been honored to lend our support since then. Each session of Spring Talks 2006 brought overflow audiences of intelligent, active folks who asked questions, raised points, expanded the dialog, and helped shatter the standard Q&A format.
Next up is Fall Talks 2006, a new series of six dialogue events on topics ranging from Sexual Freedom and Trash & Toxics to Frog Restoration and the new South American left.
In a time when big decisions are often made without community input, Fall Talks 2006 aims to open doors and open the conversation about the issues that define life in the Bay Area and beyond.
Fall Talks 2006 is presented by Shaping San Francisco, CounterPulse, City Lights Foundation, Nature in the City and Independent Arts & Media.

October 25 Trash and Toxics
Garbage, poisoned ground water, toxic waste sites; We have our work cut out for us. Recycling and anti-toxics activists will discuss the politics of waste. With: Andy Pugni (HANC Recycling), Erica Swinney (Greenaction).
November 29 Frog Restoration in San Francisco
Learn about San Francisco's rich biological heritage, and a heroic effort to restore our native frogs. With: Jim McKissock, Chris Giorni, Josiah Clark.
