Independent Arts & Media is primarily a volunteer-run organization -- we need your help!

Do you have graphic design skills or like to talk on the phone? We also need your help with the following administrative tasks and special projects.

Data entry
Filemaker 7 data entry and updating existing records. Monthly/ must be done at office/ must have Filemaker 7 experience and attention to detail

Collating and envelope stuffing
Assemble and collate printed materials for mailings. As needed/ must be done at office/ must be reliable and punctual

Expo Community Calendar Editor
Solicit calendar items, format, distribute by email and promote. Training provided. Good opportunity to develop relationships with arts community and develop email newsletter skills. Monthly/ can be done off-site/ familiarity with Microsoft Word desirable/ requires attention to detail and proofreading skills.

Donations Coordinator
Contact community businesses and secure donations for raffle, refreshments and other in-kind goods and services. Develop leads, track and acknowledge donations, maintain list of donors with contact information. Training provided, if necessary. Great opportunity to make contacts and develop relationships with community businesses. On-going/ can be done off-site/ must be friendly and persistent.

Graphic designer
Create brochures, flyers and other print and promotional materials. Website design, if appropriate. Opportunity to develop portfolio and to market work to larger community. Acknowledgement as in-kind donor with logo placement and recognition as appropriate. On-going/ can be done off-site/ must have graphic design experience.

Grant researcher
Research grant deadlines and application procedures on the Internet. Great opportunity to develop specialized, valuable knowledge and contacts. Training provided, if necessary. On-going/ can be done off-site/ must be comfortable with Internet and website navigation.

Online Community Management
Oversee IAM program outreach and promotion to diverse online community-building networks and services, including Craigslist, Tribe, MySpace, etc. Regularly update postings, maintains IAM programs' profile pages on such services, etc. Opportunity to learn about new communities and introduce people to programs they may support. On-going/ can be done off-site/ must be very familiar with Internet and Internet community sites.

Public Relations
Follow-up phone calls after press release is sent out, identify appropriate press and promotional messages for specific audiences, gather press and promotional materials from Expo or Workshop participants. Great opportunity to make media contacts and relationships. On-going/ can be done off-site/ must be friendly and persistent/ must have access to telephone, Internet and fax machine/ existing relationships with media preferred, but not necessary.

Web site developer
Manage development and delivery of backend software solutions to IAM programs, ranging from Web/email/database integration to Movable Type page design and maintenance. Acknowledgement as in-kind donor with logo placement and recognition as appropriate.Monthly/ can be done off-site and in office/ must have significant web development and Moveable Type experience.

Webmaster
Responsible for updating and maintaining IAM website content and functionality. Acknowledgement as in-kind donor with logo placement and recognition as appropriate. On-going/ can be done off-site and in office/ must have significant experience with website maintenance

Board
Our board is elected in June. There is a three-year commitment and board members are elected on a rotating basis. Contact Josh Wilson for details.

Position title: Governance Adviser
Description: At least one year of executive-level nonprofit board governance experience; ability to advise on issues of human resources, legal issues (in broad terms--simply help us to identify possible snags), sustainable growth, board relations, board recruitment, the formation of committees, budgets and finance management.

Position title: Fundraising Officer
Description: Connecting with major donors, philanthropists and foundations; event planning; experience in the etiquette and language of major fundraising; ability to guide a small, fledgling organization towards wise growth and self-sustainability.

Position title: Director of Publicity
Description: Ability to write good press releases, to create public relations and press events, to identify IAM, Newsdesk.org and Expo stories that will catch the eye of media outlets, and to use your Rolodex of excellent press contacts, knowledge of demographics and target audiences. Feedback
