Art by Rawley Clark, my practice centers around exploring the interconnectedness of Black people throughout history, particularly Black women and gender marginalized individuals. Through ceramics, painting, and printmaking, I explore the relationships, current and ancestral, between Black creatives and our collective propensity to use creativity as a method of preserving and distributing our stories. Through research and historical analysis, I will expand my body of work to create a comprehensive and streamlined collection that illustrates these ideas. The work will be multi-media, utilizing elements from my variety of creative skillsets. The anticipated outcome is a body of work that can eventually be used for a solo show.
