Friends of Franklin Square

Friends of Franklin Square (FoFS) is an all volunteer group that seeks to build community, civic engagement and improve our neighborhood park located in the north east Mission neighborhood of San Francisco. We foster civic participation through bi-annual park clean up days and an annual community event with free entertainment and food. FoFS was created in 2006 to campaign for the reconstruction of the park’s playground which was successfully funded in 2007 and built. Additional improvements include the installation of the Brotherhood of Man mosaic (our logo), pathway improvements, safety lighting, an adult outdoor workout area and a fully staffed Pit Stop at the park. We are currently working on with SFMTA Potrero Muni Yard Redevelopment Project to advocate for many public benefits including a public restroom across the street from the park, public artwork, pedestrian and bike safety improvements and street activation. Within the park we continue to advocate for a dog play area among other park upgrades.
